About J.R.

Hi!  I'm Jonathan Richard Don Hill.  I was born in Amarillo Texas, received my high school education at Clear Creek right here in League City, and graduated from Ambassador University in East Texas.  At Ambassador, I obtained an AA in Liberal Arts, a BS in Business Admin, and a BA in Theology/Pastoral Counseling.  I attended the University of Houston to incorporate more accounting education, and, to serve my country, I became an ROTC cadet.  I later picked up an MBA in international business from the University of Phoenix.  As you can see, education has always been an important focus in my life!  I'm certified by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) to teach Legal and Ethics Continuing Education classes, and I'm a registered Arbitrator with the Texas Comptrollers to arbitrate property tax issues.  Several years ago I founded Americans for Cultural Excellence, a non-profit foundation that provides financial sponsorship for students in need around the world.  It is the aim of JR Hill Realty to act as an ambassador for educational services; see our link on Continuing Ed for more information.

Post-college, I utilized my business degree within the oil and gas industry for several years.  During this time, I acquired rental properties as investments, and together with my uncle founded Can-Tex Asset Management.  My real estate agent at the time suggested that I get my real estate license, and so began my career in real estate!  I have had great success within this profession, and my business experience and schooling continually helps me to provide a unique service to my customers.

While my biography seems to read heavy on work and education, I do have other passions that I am equally proud of.  In college, I studied voice with the renowned tenor Roger Bryant.  Over the years, I have performed with various choirs, and have had the honor of invitation to perform solo for the University of Houston graduation ceremonies.  One such experience landed me in the presence of President Bush Sr., and another led to meet with Senator Kay Bailey, an acquaintance that continues to this day!  I had the opportunity to study voice in New York, but I made the decision to pursue my career in Texas, a choice I do not regret.  I am a Rotary member, a Notary Public, a member of the Board of Americans for Cultural Excellence, and an established lecturer with TREC.  I am heavily involved in church, and I hope to advance my love for community and country through involvement in Public Service someday.

I hope you find this web site helpful and informative, whatever your real estate needs may be.  Be sure to contact us if you need any additional information, or even just to get acquainted with us.

Last but not least:  I owe all of my success to blessings from God and to the love and support of my family, particularly my mother to whom this site is dedicated.
